4.6 Billion People Worldwide will own a mobile Phone by the End of 2009

According to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) if growth continues at its current rate then by the end of 2009 over 4.6 billion people worldwide will own a mobile phone.

The latest ITU figures show that as mobile phone technologies get better many more people around the world are getting a mobile phone. Over a quarter of the world’s population now own a mobile which includes many people in developing countries.

People are also taking mobile broadband at faster rates than ever before which will expect to reach 600 million by the end of the year and up to a billion by 2013. This means that despite hard time, people are still buying or upgrading to the latest products.

With all the mobile phones in the world many people are still disposing of their old ones incorrectly. Do your bit for the environment and recycle your mobile today.
