Mopay – Earn up to £400 in cash or M&S vouchers for your old phone.

Launching in 2005, Mopay was the very first mobile recycling company online and has since received awards for providing excellent service. They are backed by SHP Limited who are one of the major players in the UK mobile recycling industry. They also seem to offer their customers the fastest turnaround time for payment in comparison to other mobile recycling companies, this currently stands at just 1.9 days from the time that your old phone is received at their warehouse. Their website is extremely easy to use and they currently have over 1900 different models of phones that you can choose from. To date Mopay have raised over £500,000 for charities including the WWF, CRISIS, Breast Cancer Campaign and Cash for Kids.

How it Works:

  1. Simply visit the Mopay website,  select the sell your phone option from the tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Select the manufacturer and model of phone(s) you want to sell, if you are happy with the value they offer then add them to the basket and click on continue.
  3. At the checkout you have the option of selecting whether your phone is working, non working or B.E.R. (Beyond Econimical Repair). You can also select if you would like to donate a percentage of your cash to charities and which charity you would like to give it to. The lowest amount you can give is 10% but this is entirely up to yourself and it is possible to select 0. On the checkout page you also need to add the IMEI number which can either be found on the back of your phone under the battery or by typing in *#06# on the main screen.
  4. Once you have added the IMEI, tick the box to confirm you have read the terms and conditions and continue by selecting either cash or M&S vouchers. Lastly you must fill in the required details.
  5. Once you have completed the checkout and to complete the process you must return your phone in a padded envelope either via the freepost address which is provided to you or by recorded delivery which is recommended if your phone(S) are of a higher value or you just want the added security. If you are selling more than 5 phones you can request a free courier collection.
  6. Once Mopay receive your old mobile at their warehouse you will be paid within an average of 1.9 days via either cheque or voucher.

Payment:

You can opt to receive either cheque or Marks and Spencer vouchers for recycling your old phone, if you do choose the vouchers this may mean that you will receive a slightly higher value.

What happens to my phone when I send it in?

Mopay will test, verify and recycle all handsets that they receive. Some will be fully refurbished and resold within the UK and some will be sent out to other countries throughout the world.
