O2 is part of one of Europe’s biggest mobile networks, Telefonica who have over 37 million customers around the world. O2 Recycle has been created in partnership with one of the UK’s biggest recycling companies, Redeem Plc for both O2 and non O2 customers to recycle their unwanted gadgets in return for cash.

As well as recycling old mobile phones at O2 Recycle you can also send in unwanted MP3 players, iPods, digital cameras, games consoles, SAT NAVs and tablets. All payments are sent in cash via cheque or straight to your bank account.

O2 does not make any money from O2 Recycle as any profits that are made are donated to their Think Big scheme which helps to change the lives of young people in Britain.

How it Works

1. Visit the O2 Recycle site here
2. Search for the type of device, manufacturer and model using the drop down boxes on the left of the page.
3. On the following page you will be quoted a price for a working handset / gadget with slight wear and tear. If your old mobile or other gadget is damaged you can click the button to get a more specific valuation.
4. If you are happy with the price offered then click the ‘sell now’ button to add it to your basket. If you are selling more than one item then simply repeat the process above.
5. Next register your details or login if you have used the site before. After completing the checkout process you will be provided with a freepost address or you can request a freepost envelope. (Its highly recommended to use registered post if you are sending a higher value item.)
6. Once your old mobile phone or gadget has been received it will be tested and your cash will be sent out within 3 days to your bank or by cheque.

They have recently announced a special offer where they will price match Envirofone and Mazuma Mobile on any handset that you recycle with them.

In order to get the price match simply recycle your mobile as normal with O2 Recycle then check the advertised handset prices on Mazuma and Envirofone.If you see the price higher on either site within 7 days then fill in the price match form on their website and they will contact you within 24 hours to pay you the difference.
