A recent survey has found that selling old the old mobile phones in each person’s household in the UK could generate as much as £768 in cash to put towards Christmas or saved up.

The research revealed that 84% of households in the country have at least one old mobile stashed away and some have considerably more.

Even very old Nokia or Motorola handsets can be sold on recycling sites whilst Apple iPhones and other smartphones could be worth hundreds of pounds.

Many people in the UK simply aren’t aware of how much their old mobiles are worth and by recycling them all could be a great way to afford Christmas presents this year.

The highest priced handset to be recycled in 2010 was the Apple iPhone which sold on average for around £400.
