Waste Watch Urges Britons to Recycle their Old Mobile Phones

Environmental Agency Waste Watch Watch is urging British people to recycle their old mobile phones as they have now become fast moving technological items.

Mike Webster, spokesman for Waste Watch said “The process of recycling old mobile phones is now very simple and an added incentive is that people get paid for it.” “There’s no reason not to do it. It’s very easy, you can just pop it in an envelope and off it goes.”

Mobile recycling has also become a great source of income for many charities, either you can donate your old handset directly to a charity or to a mobile recycling company who will pay you and make a donation to charity on your behalf.

Mobile phone users are becoming more conscious of the environment as a recent report revealed that 8 million mobiles were recycled in the UK in 2009, more than double the figure from 2007.
