The site is easy to use and you can trade in your old working or non-working phones using a quick and simple 3 step process. They will send payment for your old mobile of up to £250 within 4 days via cheque, Paypal and online vouchers will also be offered in the future. How it Works:

  • Type in the model number of the handset that you have and click on the ‘go’ button. On the following screen you will be offered a working and non-working price for your old mobile, if you are happy with the value click on the corresponding button and enter the IMEI number of your phone. The IMEI number can be found by either removing the battery and looking on the sticker to find a 15 digit number, alternatively you can type in *#06# on your mobile, it will start with either 35 or 01.
  • Once you have entered the IMEI click on the ‘sell now’ button and proceed through the checkout. You will be given the option to either receive a freepost bag, have a courier collection for your phone or simply print out your own postage label. If you choose a courier collection then £8 will be deducted from the value of your phone, if you decide on receiving a freepost envelope the value will stay as it is or if you print out your own label you will receive an extra £1 on the original value.
  • You must then register your details or login if you are an existing customer and complete the rest of the checkout.
  • Once your old mobile phone has been received by Phone Recycle Bank it will be tested and your payment will be sent out via cheque, Paypal or BACS. (E-voucher payments will be offered in the near future)


Payment is sent via cheque, Paypal or BACS and there are plans to add E-Vouchers in the near future.

If you use your own envelope to return your old phone in you will get an extra £2 on the standard value.

What Happens to My Old Phone Once it has Been Received?
